Ideas for Supporting Student Writing

Story Bird is a web based application that allows students to  reverse the process of visual storytelling by starting with the image and "unlocking" the story inside. They can choose an artist or a theme, get inspired, and start writing. Students will need to create an account or as a teacher you can create a class account. Could be a great way to differentiate for the gifted students.

This rap song covers the five main elements of a story: setting, plot, characters, conflict and theme. It would be a great way to introduce or reinforce these elements with the students.
